Blue Lagoons Guide
in Vang Vieng, Laos

There are three lagoons in Vang Vieng, and lucky for you,
we've explored all three to provide you with feedback on each one.

We're here to tell you and show you which one's the best, what's included at each one, and the entrance fee for each one.
Follow our helpful guide to the lagoons for an epic day of adventure!

Directions

You can rent either a dune buggy, or a motorbike for the day and explore all three on your own. There are tons of rental shops in town. Just double-check your rental for any imperfections, and take photos as well. Laos is full of potholes too so drive slow, always wear your helmet, and be careful!

Cost: $8.00USD/Day for Motorbike or $50.00USD/Day for Dune Buggy

Blue Lagoon (Blue Lagoon and Phu Kham Cave)

This is the closest lagoon to the town of Vang Vieng, 7km away. However, please note that the drive there, like most roads in Laos, are filled with potholes. This lagoon was unfortunately a major let down. It was jam packed, and we couldn't find a quiet space to ourselves. The lagoon itself is quite small and compact. But there is however, a large tree that hosts jumping points, and a rope swing. But to be honest, compared to the other two, we might even suggest to skip it completely.

Entrance Fee: 10,000LAK/$1.55CAD/$1.15USD/person

Blue Lagoon 2

Blue Lagoon 2 is about double the distance of Blue Lagoon, at 13km away from town. This one is our favourite of the three! This one is more like a park, and is the biggest. It has three lagoons you can swim in, with inner tubes, high jumping spots, and a rope swing. You can also hang out at a picnic table, or on lounge chairs surrounding the main lagoon. On the lawn there are a couple small zip-lines you can try out too! Near the entrance you’ll find two restaurants on site. You could easily spend the entire day here at the one lagoon.

Entrance Fee: 10,000LAK/$1.55CAD/$1.15USD/person

Blue Lagoon 3

Blue Lagoon 3 is the farthest from town, at 21km away. This lagoon is actually man-made, and ranges in the middle for size. But it too, has a lot offer - a small zip-line (above the lagoon), a rope swing, tubes, bamboo rafts, kayaks, and even a fire pit! This lagoon has one restaurant on site, and was surprisingly, the second populated out of the three.

Entrance Fee: 10,000LAK/$1.55CAD/$1.15USDperson
